Homalopsids
Homalopsid Snake Systematics

My PhD dissertation research involves investigationg the systematics, biogeography, and evolution of homalopsid snakes in Southeast Asia. This reseearch encompasses several themes, such as looking at molecular systematics and historical biogeography. Along with this research includes the investigating the systematics and distribution of other Southeast Asian reptiles.

Barcoding
DNA-based Identification of New Caledonia Herpetofauna

New Caledonia, the world's smallest biodiversity hotspot, harbors 100+ endemic lizards that face great levels of anthrpogenic threats. This project involves sequeicng a mitochondrial gene to aid in the identification, delimitation, further research, and conservation of this unique, insular fauna.

Scales
Fluid Dynamics of Snake Scales

The scales of reptiles are extremely complex and variables, from macrostructure to microstructure. Using a combination of microCT scanning, 3D printing, and 3D particle image velocimetry (3D PIV), I investigated the fluid dynamics of keels in various snakes.
